well it is all systems go. we are coming home. we have booked our one-way flights, slightly earlier than predicted.... yes, we arrive into manchester on 23 april. once the decision was made, everything has fallen into place. we have already got 12 teachests and have packed 4 of them. i've resigned and we've given notice to our landlord. it has all happened very swiftly indeed. several reasons which i won't elaborate on, main thing is that we are on our way. resigning from work was very hard. i love my job and my boss is great but hey, i'll find another job i am sure and it has been wonderful experience for me. i will miss being able to walk barefoot along the beach to work! started doing some housing applications and i have sent off my cv to some agencies etc. flight home ties in quite nicely with my mum and dad's departure from auckland 4 days earlier. they leave newcastle in less than 7 weeks time for their trip to nz. by an amazing coincidence, they will be in christchurch at the same time as i fly down for a conference! so i will get to spend a few precious hours with them before they head off on their travels and i start my conference. then we meet up again in auckland for easter, just before we all set off back to england. we are coming back via bangkok and dubai so shouldn't be too jetlagged when we arrive. currently contemplating getting train from manchester instead of hiring a car or being picked up. it would be very nice to arrive into newcastle by train - especially with mia.
we have had a tough week with mia as she has had an infection. anyway, she seems to be back to her normal happy self now. we are having a quiet weekend at home just packing, washing curtains etc. once toby goes back to work on 7 feb time will fly past. lots and lots to organise! we have another potential owner for frank and arnie coming round at 3pm so fingers crossed. tomorrow is a holiday here - auckland day - so a nice long weekend. we had a lovely trip down to the beach last night, much more fun now mia is walking so we will probably do that again later or maybe go for a pint, after all it is bank holiday sunday!
well that's about all our news. can't wait to be home again, enjoying a glass of wine in the free trade and lunch in panis! (once i've got a job anyway!)
love to all, see you very soon.
