Ok, so she absolutely refuses to crawl but she is moving very very fast. So fast that we (toby) has had to make the living room “safe”. Everything up high, sharp things hidden away, bla bla. Can’t leave her unattended as she is suddenly interested in everything. Pulling at things, playing with things she shouldn’t, much more curious. Thankfully we are having a good weekend after yet another rough week. Mia got an ear infection on Tuesday so we have had some very tough nights. She has learnt how to scream. Big time. Seems to coincide with the ear ache but she can scream for england now. Tantrums here we come!! Gone are the peaceful days. So lots of sleepless nights, on Thursday night I was up with her from 3am to 6am….. then up for work at 7. not much fun I can tell you. Still, many of you reading this are only too familiar with this scenario and probably don’t have a lot of sympathy! Mine and toby’s “domestic/sick leave” allowances are just about up. This is when we realise how we need that family network of support and miss it madly. Anyway, as many of you know, toby has had his place confirmed for sept 07 so we’ll be heading back to your sunny shores. Only 4 weeks now til our holiday too, can’t say we are looking forward to the flights… dreading them actually. Just hope mia’s ears cope ok. Feel sorry for all our fellow passengers already! so, it is now Sunday morning and we have been up since just gone 6. don’t mind actually as she slept thru so we have both had around 8 hours sleep which is wonderful. We’ve just scoffed mushrooms on toast and had lots of coffee. Mia is napping and, when she wakes, we might go off to altura café to meet nick and sarah for a hot chocolate – or maybe more caffeine…. Going to head into ponsonby for lunch, our treat for the weekend. There is a Turkish café which always looks tempting so I think we will try it out. Nice mild sunny day again. Yesterday we cleaned up the house and went to browns bay. Mia loved the swing and we had a potter round the shops. Set up projector and watched the original Manchurian candidate on the wide screen. Got the constant gardener for tonight. Things have eased off at work, chief exec and mayor should be signing off the annual report tomorrow. It then goes to a council meeting for approval before then going to printers. I will be very proud of myself when I get the final printed copy. Bought a scrap book for mia yesterday – toby’s idea and we are going to start filling it up. Got lots of handmade congrats cards from when she was born and we have been looking through photos of that first week. Wow, she was tiny! Got other bits and pieces which can go in it eg her first piece of art work from daycare, mother’s day card etc.
Right, off to enjoy the rest of the day hopefully. Enjoy the pix and see you all soon…….
