almost ready to go

mia is officially a uk citizen now! she has her british passport at last so we can come home whenever we want, well sort of. if it was up to toby and there were no complications, we'd be on a plane by the end of the month. i am more relaxed about things and am happy to wait til july. we've contacted various housing associations back in the toon and and they are sending application packs to my mum who is forwarding them to us. looking more and more likely we will be in a ground floor flat in north shields or somewhere similar. no doubt the housing associations will have long waiting lists so we might be lucky, though the fact we have a toddler (not a baby any more....) might work in our favour. got lots of estate agent website details too from my mum and are keeping an eye on them. toby is going to ring an export company tomorrow and order some tea chests so we can start packing them with things we won't need over next few months. having a lazy sunday, might head to milford reserve this afternoon for a free jazz & beats concert next to the beach. depends on the weather really, it's looking good at the moment but i think showers are forecast. toby is away out doing shopping and mia is napping. no more photos today unless we take some this afternoon. love to all.

the cock and bull, ellerslie

mad mia again! quite content to play with beer mats and salt/pepper pots in the pub! we went there yesterday evening to take our mind off things. weird 24 hours.... got a phonecall this time yesterday from an old dear. she had just had to put her beloved cat down at our local vets, saw our advert and rang to see about taking frank and arnie. she was very distressed so i went and picked her up and brought her round to meet the cats. to cut a long story short, she took them yesterday afternoon but at 10am today we have been to collect them. so we are a bit peed off, having put frank and arnie through the trauma of moving etc and us thinking they had a fab new home. she is too upset about her old cat and is worrying about how much our 2 will cost her in vet's bills. it is a real shame, she was a dot cotton character, cat-mad and the house and location was perfect. never mind, i'm sure someone else will come along. it is too late to think about bringing them home now plus we can't really afford it anyway.

getting better

well mia is walking lots and lots now, around 70% of the time i guess. she's a bit off colour this weekend so we've had interrupted sleep but nothing too bad. this was taken at kell park, albany on thursday evening after work. i have been getting to work early and finishing early but it will be all change tomorrow. boss is back at work so my free parking space is gone! must start doing the walking thing again, i haven't been doing it - lots of pathetic excuses!
