6 Month Mia

look at our beautiful little girl. she will be 6 months old tomorrow, sunday 14 may, which is mother's day here in nz. i had a lovely surprise when i collected mia from nursery yesterday - a mother's day card hidden in her bag. made by her of course.... well, it had her handprints on it! i wondered what the orange stuff on her hands was on thursday. a card to keep safe somewhere and show her when she is older. i find it hard to believe she is 6 months old already. she is rolling all the time so no doubt she will be crawling soon. she is making all sorts of weird and wonderful noises as she practises her vocal cords and has 2 teeth coming through. it is a cold morning here and we have no plans for the day. might go and wander round milford, local suburb. if i get the job at council in takapuna we intend to move so at least one of us could walk to work to save buying a second car. no plans to buy a house yet, happy renting for the time being. milford would be the obvious choice for somewhere new to live, good shops, a couple of restaurants and bars and a nice beach. i'm out with a couple of girlfriends tonight - a meal out somewhere probably (can't handle big boozy nights any more!) and toby is babysitting. much love to everybody. will try and keep this blog a bit more up to date again now!

and some more

mia is now settled into local nursery and absolutely loves it. i love it too, it gives me some freedom and i can get mountains done whilst she is there. the little swine won't take solids from us but will quite happily eat the fruit and veggies supplied at nursery. she is probably the youngest there but not by much. the carers are all older women and they adore her. i have been taking her down nearly every day for the last 2 weeks in preparation for her starting fulltime just as soon as i get a job. speaking of which, i am hoping the local council are going to offer me a job shortly. i have had 2 interviews, testing and they have requested references.....

another cute outfit, courtesy of mum and dad. suddenly she fits loads of clothes that have been sitting there just waiting. she is spending quite a bit of time in fleece babygrows as well as it is bloody freezing here! not freezing by english standards i guess but feels freezing to us. i think we are going to be borrowing lots of clothes when we come home in september. not that long now, the weeks are flying past.

sorry, sorry, sorry....

at long last, a new addition to the blog!! we have been having pc problems - all to do with some new software bla bla - so it has taken some time to work out how to upload photos etc. excuses, excuses i know but every second of every day seems to be filled with something (or someone!) now. as you can see, mia is no longer a wee bairn but quite a chunky, tall infant. i am having great fun dressing her up - much to toby's disgust!
