almost there

almost sitting..... sunday evening, 30 april and the fletchers have gone. just had a text saying they have arrived at newcastle airport. all seems very strange. here one minute, gone the next. mia is going to miss her grannie heaps (and her aunty, uncle and 2 cousins of course). sounds like they had a reasonable flight. the house feels very different today, no doubt we'll get used to it. back to reality for us. toby goes back to school in the morning and i really need to find a job by middle of may before we make even more inroads into our savings. we have had a lovely holiday with them all and there is even talk of chris returning later in the year.

i love this pic, even tho top of my head is missing. we are sitting in a bar - where else! - on ponsonby road. toby and his mum had just introduced mia to the delights of fresh lemon and yes, she actually seems to like it! 

Daft dad

nice expression love. mia got a new backpack from grandma. she loved it to start with but we think it's a wee bit too big for her. no doubt she'll be big enough soon enough. photo taken on the walk up to piha waterfall.

hope you like mia's new specs. i think they really suit her. not sure what she makes of them tho! 

Arty farty

took toby's ma to auckland botanical gardens a few days ago. the sun shone and the place looked magical. enjoyed lunch in the cafe then a nice long walk around the gardens. afterwards we met up with adam, sarah, bex and fynn and walked up to piha waterfall.

again taken on toby's birthday. i have noticed a distinct lack of photos of mia and i so have demanded that toby rectify the situation! this is taken early doors in our bedroom whilst toby opening pressies. 

Happy Birthday Dad

taken on the morning of 22 april, bright and early as per usual. mia bought toby a set of boats. he keeps saying he wants a boat so mia bought him a set of plastic ones for the bath. about as close to the real thing as he is going to get for some time. toby wearing teeshirt from my brother david and family. nice day, glorious sunshine, pint in nearby pub with a couple of friends and a takeaway for dinner. 

that hair

as you can see, mia's hair still being styled by her dad. she loves her tummy time and we are starting to think about making the house safe cos she'll be crawling before long. not getting very far with solids, she likes sucking on fruit but can't get her to eat her veggies yet!
