enjoy the pics, all taken this evening at our local beach. i can hardly believe a year has passed. what a year. we have a fantastic, beautiful and very spirited daughter whom we love very much indeed.

One to remember, Mia's first birthday. We have had a lovely evening, spent down at the beach. thank you so much to those who have sent presents, greatly appreciated. it has been a bit of a weird day, unfortunately both toby and i have been at work. i had major guilt trips this morning but then all my (female) co-workers persuaded me that birthday number one was strictly for mothers. i am, therefore, guzzling sparkling wine, and now chilling out! mia , naturally, was more interested in the wrapping paper from her presents and grabbing the chocolate icing on her birthday cake rather than eating it. we tried to buy her a bike (thank you grandma christine for cash) but they were out of stock so instead I hired a tunnel toy to encourage her to crawl more. she seemed to love it and we took it to the beach with us as you'll have seen from the photos above. thank you again everybody. next year will be party-time, hopefully surrounded by all our loved ones. today marks the end of a great first year in mia's life and our much changed lives as new parents.
