New Year's Eve 2006/07
still not having much luck with photos. anyway, wishing you all a very prosperous and happy 2007 and feeling very very glad that we will be home for the next new year's eve.
last night was a success (sort of....).
we had a glass of champers with toby's rellies and put mia down in her portacot. all good. headed off to birkenhead cinema (bit like the tyneside cinema but smaller scale) and saw a truly fantastic film, the valet. no doubt it did the rounds in newcastle months ago. absolutely superb. one of those films when we were all gutted when it ended. loved it so much we have hired another one with one of main actors in to watch tonight (as recommended by cousin trevor). headed off for a pint afterwards in a hideous bar with nightmare dj doing songs from the 80's (and really awful ones) and lasted just one drink. music so loud you couldn't have a conversation. anyway, got back to trevor's around 10.45 to find poor mia sitting on audrey's lap looking very sad and confused. she had woken 30 mins earlier and was very distressed to find mum and dad absent. oops. anyway, her little face lit up when she saw us and we managed to get her home and asleep again within half an hour. we then stayed up and saw the new year in with a glass of cointreau each. very nice.
what wasn't so nice was my 6am wakeup call of a nasty headache followed by vomiting. yes, food poisoning had reared its ugly head again, probably thanks to some dodgy shellfish. one of these year's i will have a successful nye and nyd!
all back to normal now and mia will soon be heading off to bed.
