happy new year's eve to one and all.

having a few probs adding photos to blog so vanuatu pix will have to wait. it is now 5pm on new year's eve and, wowweeeeee, we have a night out ahead! doug and audrey have offered to babysit mia along with trevor and kim's 2 bairns, robert and thomas! fantastic for us eh. so toby is off out buying seafood for our dinner which we will have here at around 6pm then we'll go to trevor and kim's in birkenhead. drop off mia there, put up the portacot and pray for a well-behaved baby. then we are off to a local cinema to see a film. trevor and kim have booked tickets, we think it might be a french film "the valet". then for a few bevvies and back to trevor and kim's. not sure where we will be at midnight. if all is well with mia and trevor and kim want to stay up to see 2007 in then we will probably be at their house. if they want to do their own thing or aren't planning on staying up then we'll head home. after 3 miserable nye's i am hoping this one is half decent. last year i had food poisoning on waiheke, year before i was incredibly homesick and year before that was spent in casualty having cyst removed. things can only be an improvement this year..... next year no doubt we will be calling upon a grannie to babysit and heading off out with pals next year. this afternoon we have been to muriwai and done part of the walkway between muriwai and bethells beach. it was a bit hair-raising though and i was very glad when we got back to the car. stunning views and no doubt pix will follow soon. enjoy your respective nights out.
