week 1

week one of our holiday wasn't too good. we arrived safe and sound at edinburgh airport after over 36 hours travelling. exhausted, smelly and well and truly fed up. met by adam, sarah and granny and grandad tompkins. we managed to stay awake for the 2 hour drive down to belford and stayed up til around 8.30pm. mia had an ok first night considering for her it was daytime. our first full day, sunday, was full on family. the tompkins arrived en masse at 1pm. mia eventually met her full family, fantastic! so many people it was hard to know who to sit and talk to. i think we coped admirably considering the jetlag. mia was, of course, the star attraction and i think it was just a bit too much with everybody wanting a cuddle and staring at her. monday morning and we enjoyed a chilled out day. i went down to alnwick with chris, sarah and mia to buy fynn's birthday pressie then we enjoyed a nice quiet evening in belford.
