9 month mia

Time for our weekly update again. The weeks are galloping past and we are nearing the end of winter and heading towards spring and our trip home.  We have had a very rough week indeed.  Mia poorly, me poorly, toby with a sore back, me having minor surgery, long hours at work, sleepless nights and, to top it all, crap weather!  We have spent the weekend recuperating.  Last night’s recuperation involved pan-fried scallops, prawns and squid washed down with a bottle of bubbly followed by homemade chocolate mousse complete with brandy. Delicioso.  Watched the fastest Indian in the world, great film. I’ve been out for lunch today with a girl from work and mia.  She sat on table (mia, not my friend!) the whole time, playing and munching bread, no bother at all.  We are wondering if she is going to bypass crawling. She seems to be very very sturdy on her feet and can stand unaided for a couple of seconds. She is recovering well from another bacterial infection, no doubt caught at daycare.  We have nasty eyedrops and antibiotics for her.  It has been an exhausting week all in all and we were very glad when it was over.  We have had to share care this week, both working/staying home 2.5 days each. Believe you me, it was easier to be at work than home with mia!  I even had to go into work yesterday to catch up a bit. My annual report deadline looms. This week really reinforced our minds - Toby’s application is in and we are waiting to hear. I had a mole and cyst removed on Thursday. Mole was very dark and gp recommended I got it chopped off, cyst was one I got a few years back and had whipped open in casualty on new years eve.  Anyway, my dermatologist offered to open up wound again as cyst was showing signs of growing again.  He was a lovely but very posh English bloke and, as you can see, did a fab job.  Scars should be tiny.  We spliced open our first lemon at long last and enjoyed it with our seafood last night.  Half is left and will go nicely with a gin and tonic later maybe.  Enjoy the pix, I have to go as mia is waking. She has had a great day and fingers crossed for a healthy week ahead at daycare. She is now 68cm tall but still around 7.5kg.  she seems to be growing upwards and not outwards which is fine by me. Love to you all and see you soon.
